The McTimoney Animal Association is recommended by the British Equine Veterinary Association

Musculo-Skeletal Paraprofessionals

Roles and responsibilities of veterinary surgeons and qualified musculo-skeletal allied professionals in the treatment of the horse.

The British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) is committed to providing the best possible care for the horse in health and disease.   It is recognised
that some horses with musculo-skeletal pathology may benefit by receiving treatment from non-veterinary therapists as defined by the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962 (e.g. physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors). BEVA works with a number of musculo-skeletal allied professional groups and publishes lists of suitably qualified post-graduate members of these groups who meet certain criteria.  BEVA considers that, by meeting these criteria, the individuals have the necessary knowledge and experience to safely treat horses following a veterinary referral.   The inclusion of an individual's name on one of the published lists is not an endorsement of the individual but instead demonstrates that the individual is a member of a musculo-skeletal allied professional group whose entry criteria have been recognised by BEVA.
